Kodo Millet Noodles (Varagu Noodles) – Cooking Recipes
Kodo Millet Noodles are wholesome, fiber-rich, and can be prepared in Indian, Asian, and fusion styles using the enclosed tastemaker.
1. Kodo Millet Masala Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Tastemaker – 1 sachet
- Onion – 1 sliced
- Tomato – 1 chopped
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Water – 500 ml
Method
- Cook noodles in boiling water for 4–5 minutes and drain.
- Sauté onion and tomato until soft.
- Add tastemaker and mix well.
- Toss in the cooked noodles.
- Serve hot.
2. Kodo Millet Vegetable Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Carrot – 50 g, julienned
- Capsicum – 50 g, sliced
- Cabbage – 50 g, shredded
- Tastemaker – 1 sachet
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Method
- Cook noodles and drain.
- Stir-fry vegetables for 2–3 minutes.
- Add tastemaker and mix.
- Add noodles and toss well.
3. Kodo Millet Lemon Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Peanuts – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Method
- Cook noodles and keep aside.
- Prepare tempering with mustard, peanuts, and curry leaves.
- Add turmeric and noodles.
- Switch off flame and add lemon juice.
- Mix and serve.
4. Kodo Millet Coconut Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Fresh grated coconut – ½ cup
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Urad dal – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – few
Method
- Cook noodles and drain.
- Prepare tempering.
- Add grated coconut and sauté lightly.
- Mix in noodles and serve.
5. Kodo Millet Tomato Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Tomatoes – 2 chopped
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
Method
- Sauté onion until golden.
- Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add chilli powder and salt.
- Mix in cooked noodles and serve.
6. Kodo Millet Paneer Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Paneer – 100 g cubed
- Capsicum – 50 g
- Onion – 1 sliced
- Tastemaker – 1 sachet
Method
- Sauté paneer and vegetables.
- Add tastemaker.
- Add cooked noodles and toss well.
- Serve hot.
7. Kodo Millet Moringa Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
- Moringa Leaf Powder – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Tastemaker – 1 sachet
Method
- Sauté garlic and onion.
- Add moringa powder and tastemaker.
- Mix in cooked noodles.
- Toss and serve.
8. Kodo Millet Noodle Soup
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 100 g
- Mixed vegetables – 100 g
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Water – 750 ml
Method
- Boil vegetables and garlic in water.
- Add noodles and cook until soft.
- Season with pepper and salt.
- Serve hot.
9. Kodo Millet Curd Noodles
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 150 g
- Thick curd – 1 cup
- Grated carrot – 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
Method
- Cook and cool noodles.
- Mix with curd, carrot, and coriander.
- Add salt and serve.
10. Kodo Millet Sweet Payasam
Ingredients
- Kodo Millet Noodles – 100 g
- Coconut milk – 400 ml
- Palm jaggery – 75 g
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
- Cashews – 10
Method
- Cook noodles until soft.
- Add coconut milk and palm jaggery.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with cardamom and cashews.

- Boil 1 litre of water.
