Kodo Millet Noodles (Varagu Noodles) – Cooking Recipes

Kodo Millet Noodles are wholesome, fiber-rich, and can be prepared in Indian, Asian, and fusion styles using the enclosed tastemaker.

1. Kodo Millet Masala Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Tastemaker – 1 sachet
  • Onion – 1 sliced
  • Tomato – 1 chopped
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 500 ml

Method

  1. Cook noodles in boiling water for 4–5 minutes and drain.
  2. Sauté onion and tomato until soft.
  3. Add tastemaker and mix well.
  4. Toss in the cooked noodles.
  5. Serve hot.

2. Kodo Millet Vegetable Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Carrot – 50 g, julienned
  • Capsicum – 50 g, sliced
  • Cabbage – 50 g, shredded
  • Tastemaker – 1 sachet
  • Oil – 1 tbsp

Method

  1. Cook noodles and drain.
  2. Stir-fry vegetables for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add tastemaker and mix.
  4. Add noodles and toss well.

3. Kodo Millet Lemon Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Peanuts – 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Method

  1. Cook noodles and keep aside.
  2. Prepare tempering with mustard, peanuts, and curry leaves.
  3. Add turmeric and noodles.
  4. Switch off flame and add lemon juice.
  5. Mix and serve.

4. Kodo Millet Coconut Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Fresh grated coconut – ½ cup
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few

Method

  1. Cook noodles and drain.
  2. Prepare tempering.
  3. Add grated coconut and sauté lightly.
  4. Mix in noodles and serve.

5. Kodo Millet Tomato Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Tomatoes – 2 chopped
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  1. Sauté onion until golden.
  2. Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
  3. Add chilli powder and salt.
  4. Mix in cooked noodles and serve.

6. Kodo Millet Paneer Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Paneer – 100 g cubed
  • Capsicum – 50 g
  • Onion – 1 sliced
  • Tastemaker – 1 sachet

Method

  1. Sauté paneer and vegetables.
  2. Add tastemaker.
  3. Add cooked noodles and toss well.
  4. Serve hot.

7. Kodo Millet Moringa Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 200 g
  • Moringa Leaf Powder – 1 tsp
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Tastemaker – 1 sachet

Method

  1. Sauté garlic and onion.
  2. Add moringa powder and tastemaker.
  3. Mix in cooked noodles.
  4. Toss and serve.

8. Kodo Millet Noodle Soup

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 100 g
  • Mixed vegetables – 100 g
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Water – 750 ml

Method

  1. Boil vegetables and garlic in water.
  2. Add noodles and cook until soft.
  3. Season with pepper and salt.
  4. Serve hot.

9. Kodo Millet Curd Noodles

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 150 g
  • Thick curd – 1 cup
  • Grated carrot – 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  1. Cook and cool noodles.
  2. Mix with curd, carrot, and coriander.
  3. Add salt and serve.

10. Kodo Millet Sweet Payasam

Ingredients

  • Kodo Millet Noodles – 100 g
  • Coconut milk – 400 ml
  • Palm jaggery – 75 g
  • Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
  • Cashews – 10

Method

  1. Cook noodles until soft.
  2. Add coconut milk and palm jaggery.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Garnish with cardamom and cashews.
