Foxtail Millet Vermicelli – Healthy & Tasty Recipes
1. Foxtail Millet Vermicelli Upma
Ingredients
- 200g Nature’s Choice Foxtail Millet Vermicelli
- 1 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- Curry leaves
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green chilli, chopped
- 2 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Method
- Roast the vermicelli lightly for 2–3 minutes.
- Heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves.
- Add onion and green chilli; sauté until soft.
- Pour in water and add salt.
- When water boils, add vermicelli and mix well.
- Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
A wholesome breakfast or evening snack.
2. Vegetable Foxtail Vermicelli
Ingredients
- 200g Foxtail Millet Vermicelli
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas)
- 1 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Cook vermicelli until tender and drain.
- Sauté vegetables in oil until cooked.
- Add cooked vermicelli.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Toss gently and serve hot.

- 200g cooked Foxtail Millet Vermicelli
- 1 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- 2 tbsp lemon juice

- Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add curry leaves.
- Add cooked vermicelli and salt.
- Mix gently and switch off the flame.
- Add lemon juice and toss well.
- Serve warm.

4. Sweet Foxtail Vermicelli Payasam
Ingredients
- 100g Foxtail Millet Vermicelli
- 500 ml milk
- ¼ cup jaggery powder
- 2 tbsp cashews
- 1 tbsp raisins
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
Method
- Roast vermicelli lightly.
- Cook in milk until soft.
- Add jaggery and stir well.
- Add cardamom powder.
- Garnish with roasted cashews and raisins.
- Serve warm or chilled.
